Yamamoto Ro-Biki Note – Star Map, Blank

The Ro-Biki Note is a notebook built around the paper inside it. Yamamoto Paper has spent decades sourcing, handling, and evaluating paper, and the New Chiffon Cream used in the Ro-Biki reflects that depth of knowledge — a warm, cream-toned sheet at 80 gsm that handles pencils, ballpoints, gel pens, and fountain pens with equal composure. Smooth without being slippery, with enough texture to give the writing instrument something to hold onto, it is the kind of paper that makes you want to fill the page.

The Star Map is part of the Ro-Biki Map Series — a version of the notebook that brings illustrated cover art to the wax kraft format. The cover features a detailed star map printed on the wax paper, giving it a contemplative, navigational quality that suits the kind of writing that goes anywhere and records everything. Like all Ro-Biki covers, it accumulates creases and a deepening tone with use, so the star map you carry in a year's time will look meaningfully different from the one that arrives. The plain interior is completely unruled, leaving the full width of each page open for writing, sketching, or whatever the day calls for. The saddle-stitch binding opens completely flat at 360 degrees. At 91 × 210 mm, the notebook slips into the Ro-Biki Canvas Cover, a standard TRAVELER'S Notebook cover, and most jacket pockets.
